“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP” – Leonard Nimoy

I cannot even begin to express the pain and sense of loss I am feeling at the moment. It has taken a bit of time for me to even accept it. For those who understand, Leonard Nimoy was a part of our life. He was that rare public figure we allowed to become part of our heart and soul. We looked upon him as not just an actor, but as a friend. For those who do not understand the sense of loss millions of us are feeling today, you have missed the opportunity of sharing decades with a caring, decent, wonderful man who happened to be an actor who brought a fictional character to life enabling us to escape the mundane and experience the fantastic.

In our hearts, Leonard Nimoy will always “Live long and prosper.”

Carl_Sagan_Planetary_SocietyIt is hard to believe it has been so long since the death of Carl Sagan. He could teach. He could make you laugh. He could make you ponder things you never pondered before. He could make you gasp in amazement. He could inspire. I miss him… humanity needs him.

Now, before any of you “super-patriots” out there start damning, insulting, screaming, threatening and yelling watch the damn video and then think about what he says. One statement that stands out is “The first step in solving any problem is recognizing there is one.” If you look at our nation today and you do not see a problem, then I suggest you are not examining the situation in an honest manner… and that makes you part of the problem.

Thank you, Aaron Sorkin, for saying what no so-called leader in this country has had the courage to say.
